Chidiebere (Chidi) Dim
Registered Provisional Psychologist
(She/Her)

Chidi works with adults who are ready to move beyond coping and start understanding the root of their struggles. Her approach focuses on helping you feel more grounded, more aware, and more connected to yourself.

Chidi is a Registered Provisional Psychologist. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy from Mount Allison University.

She provides trauma-informed counselling to adults experiencing anxiety, panic, grief, relational challenges, and the effects of difficult or overwhelming life experiences. Her work is grounded in an understanding of the nervous system, attachment, and early relationships. She helps you understand your patterns and responses as meaningful adaptations, not personal failures.

Chidi uses an integrative and individualized approach. She draws from evidence-based therapies including EMDR, CBT, ACT, EFT, and somatic, nervous system-focused practices. Her work is practical and collaborative, with a focus on helping you build awareness, regulate emotions, and create lasting change.

She has completed Indigenous cultural training and brings a strong commitment to cultural humility. She considers the impact of identity, culture, and lived experience in every aspect of care.

Chidi works with adults from diverse backgrounds, including individuals from BIPOC communities. She supports concerns such as trauma and PTSD, attachment wounds, addictions, emotional regulation, dissociation, chronic stress, and self-esteem. She also works with patterns like people-pleasing and self-silencing that often develop in unsafe or unpredictable environments.

She is especially drawn to working with individuals who have spent years being strong for others and are ready to have that same level of support for themselves.

If this resonates with you, booking a first session is the next step!

Chidi is accepting new clients as of May 20th, 2026 , and will be available for counselling bookings on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am-4:00pm.

A Message from Chidi Herself

What it’s Like to Work With Me?

Clients often experience me as warm, direct, and attentive. I focus on creating a space where you can speak openly without feeling judged or needing to have everything figured out before you start. You do not need to filter yourself here.

I meet you where you are. At the same time, I will gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck so you can begin to move forward.

Therapy with me is not about fixing you. It is about understanding you.

We work at a pace that feels manageable. You build insight and practical tools at the same time. I may use grounding strategies, reflective questions, and body-based awareness to help you reconnect with yourself in a steady and clear way.

I also believe change happens through relationship. The connection we build in therapy is part of the work and progress.

My Belief About Therapy

Life can feel heavy when you are carrying anxiety, grief, or emotional pain that does not seem to ease. Therapy does not remove those experiences overnight. It helps you understand them, respond to them differently, and feel more steady within yourself.

You do not have to do this on your own.

Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable. It also shows readiness for something to change. My role is to work alongside you as you make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward a life that feels more grounded and aligned.

If you have been thinking about starting, this is a place you can begin!

An Authentic Message from Chidi
Shaped by curiosity, lived experience + respect for your story

Why I Do This Work

My path into psychology started with a deep curiosity about how people think, feel, and adapt. Over time, that curiosity grew as I saw how much people carry without support. I chose this work to offer something many people have not had, a space where you can speak openly and feel understood without having to minimize your experience.

I am interested in the full context of your life. Not just what is happening now, but what shaped it, what you have had to carry, and how you have continued to show up despite it. I see all your patterns and responses as meaningful. Together, we make sense of them and work toward change that feels realistic and sustainable.

A Bit More About Me

Outside of sessions, I keep my life simple and intentional. I spend time in nature, explore local trails, and use movement to stay connected to my body. Journaling and reflection help me process and stay grounded.

I enjoy music, storytelling, and cultural traditions that bring a sense of identity and connection. Cooking, reading, and slowing things down help me reset.

I also bring my full humanity into this work. I know what it feels like to carry a lot internally while still showing up for others. I understand the pressure to be strong and the discomfort that can come with slowing down and feeling what is there.

This shapes how I work with you. I show up present, direct, and attentive. I focus on creating a space where you can be honest about what is hard, without judgment or pressure.

If you have been managing on your own for a long time and are ready for something different, this may be a good place to start!
