Whether she’s sipping an iced coffee or spending cherished time with her husband, two daughters, and their dogs, her love for family shines through in everything she does. Melissa thrives in the outdoors, where hiking, camping, and soaking up sunny days in her backyard allow her to connect with nature and recharge.
Her passion for travel reflects her authentic curiosity and desire to explore new places, always seeking meaningful experiences off the beaten path. When she’s not on an adventure, you’ll find her at home enjoying cozy winter nights by the fire, indulging in reality TV or unwinding with a great movie.

Karen Loves the Water!
Karen takes any opportunity to be in, on, or looking at any body of water; whether that be a lake, a river, or an ocean! She also loves all the activities that come with it, like boating, tubing, knee boarding, river floating and her personal favourite paddleboarding! There's something incredibly serene about being in the warm sun, surrounded by water, finding solace in the gentle lapping of waves against her paddle board, while at Summerside Lake. In the summer, paddleboarding on the weekends is a way she can practice mindfulness, connect with nature, finding peace in the rhythmic motion of paddling, and experience the healing effects of water. For her, it's not just about the physical activity; it's a holistic experience that rejuvenates her spirit, keeps her grounded, and fuels her passion for the outdoors.
Karen Loves to Travel, Connect with People, Try New Foods and Attend Music Festivals
Karen's passion for travel extends beyond merely exploring new destinations around the world; it encompasses a love for immersing herself in diverse cultures, trying exotic cuisines, attending vibrant music festivals, and experiencing the healing power of music. Music, with its universal language, has always been a source of enlightenment and inspiration for Karen. She not only appreciates its artistic value, but also recognizes its therapeutic properties. Karen finds joy in dancing to the rhythm of different beats, in collective groups, where the shared experience fosters a sense of unity, belonging and power. This passion for music, dance and its healing effects not only enriches her personal life, but also influences her counselling approach. She understands the transformative impact of music with moving the body, and incorporates its positive energy and vibrance into her therapeutic practice.

Karen Struggles and Manages Her Own Mental Health Issues

Karen's personal battles with adult ADHD, anxiety, and traumatic stress symptoms have uniquely equipped her to be an empathetic and effective listener, healer and counsellor. Her lived experiences have fostered profound understanding and compassion, enabling her to connect deeply with her clients and staff facing similar challenges. Karen's journey toward mental wellness has not only imparted valuable and effective coping strategies, but also instilled in her a remarkable strength and resilience. These qualities, combined with her expertise, make her a empathetic healer, offering genuine support and inspiration to those she helps.
She also loves using sensory fidget toys to self-sooth and ground herself; and cuddling squishmallows!
Karen's Lived Experience: Bisexual, Demisexual, Single, and Child-Free in Her 30s
Karen fearlessly and fiercely challenges societal biases, standards, and pressures; while promoting self-love and acceptance in every aspect of her life. With unwavering courage, she empowers her clients to embrace their authentic selves and find contentment and fulfillment in the present moment. Through her advocacy, she instills a sense of empowerment and inclusivity for all relationship statuses, family dynamics, sexual preferences, and gender identities. Karen's dedication to breaking down barriers, creates a nurturing environment where individuals, couples, and families can feel profoundly seen, heard, accepted, and truly understood.
